About KIOXIA PM7 Series
The PM7 Series of dual-port 24G SAS SSDs are available in a 2.5-inch (15mm thickness) form factor. Reliability is enhanced even further with the implementation of KIOXIA's seventh-generation two-die failure management architecture that enables PM7 series SSDs to sustain a simultaneous two flash memory die failure, recover from it and still read all of the data. The series is built on KIOXIA's 112-layer BiCS FLASH TM 3D TLC flash memory and offers capacities from 1.92 TB up to 30.72 TB. These SSDs also feature Power Loss Protection (PLP) and offer a range of security/encryption options, such as 'Self Encrypting Drive' (SED).
How SED encryption protects your data
SED uses Advanced Encryption Services (AES) algorithm & an onboard crypto-processor.
When system is powered and the proper credentials are provided, the SSD 'unlocks' & the stored data is decrypted.
SED offers instantaneous cryptographic erasure which helps reduce device retirement or redeployment costs.
